Chief Executive – Elaine Ballard

Elaine joined the Association in January 2000 from CT Dewi Sant, where she was Director of Housing Services for over five years. Elaine’s previous experience includes many years spent in local government in Cardiff and Nottingham, and three years in Australia. Whilst in Sydney, she worked for an independent Social Planning Consultancy and the New South Wales government.

Deputy Chief Executive/Director of Customer Service & Development – Janet B​ochel

Janet joined the Association in September 2003 as Head of Support Services from Tai Trothwy, where she was Regional Manager for 5 years.  Previous to this Janet had worked for several local authorities in England. Janet is Deputy Chief Executive.

Director of Finance – Steve Smith

Steve joined the Association in July 1999 from United Welsh Housing Association having been their Deputy Director of Finance.  Steve qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1990 with Peachey and Partners based in Newport where he was the Senior Audit Manager until joining UWHA in 1993.

Director of Support Services & Continuous Improvement – Mark Sheridan

Mark joined the Association in January 2009; this followed two years working as a consultant and providing a Supported Housing Advisor service to Community Housing Cymru.

For the previous twenty years Mark ran the supported housing service for Gwalia Housing Group. Firstly, as the Director of Community Care and then, from 2000, as the Chief Executive of Trothwy Cyf.

Director of Corporate Services – Nia Bennett

Nia joined the Association in July 2010 as Head of Corporate Services from Cardiff University, where she was HR Manager for 5 years.

Previous to this Nia worked in HR in the public and private sector and also spent time working in the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg  before taking a career break to raise 3 children and undertake project and voluntary work.
