Getting Involved

This section of the website explains how you can get involved at Taff HA as a tenant, resident or support service user.

Get Involved

Taff HA realises the importance and value of involving its customers to assist improving service delivery and has always worked hard to promote customer involvement.

The ways in which you can get involved are varied and everyone is welcome . We recognise that people like to get involved in different ways and that people also may need support to get involved.

Taff HA also rewards customers for getting involved in the form of the Timebanks Scheme. Your time, skills & opinions are valuable to us and therefore we think we should reward your involvement.

Ways to get involved?

  • Join a customer group – These range from Tenants’ & Residents’ Associations, to focussed action groups, and to more informal Residents’ Groups. Check out our existing groups by clicking on the “Current Customer Groups” tab. Similarly if you are interested in setting up a new customer group, please contact your Housing Officer or Annette Kerr (Customer Involvement Officer) who will be happy to discuss your ideas and give the appropriate support to do this.

  • Complaints, compliments and suggestions – give us your feedback on the services we provide. This can be done face to face in Reception, by telephone, by letter, by email or by using the link on our website.

  • Community Projects – Taff HA encourages community cohesion in the communities in which it operates. Taff HA, with assistance from external funding, has been able to carry out numerous projects in our communities. Please click on the “Community Projects” tab for details of our current community projects. Everyone is welcome to take part in our community projects and we even welcome volunteers to assist us in steering and delivering them.

  • Tenant Board Members – If you are interested in being a Tenant Board Member please click here (link to Tenant Board Member Policy) which gives you further information.

  • Customer Questionnaires & Focus Groups – If you are interested in giving your opinion on a particular service or issue this one-off involvement opportunity is for you. Keep an eye on our website, newsletter and reception area for questionnaire and focus group opportunities.

  • Become a shareholder (link to Shareholding Membership Policy) – This enables you to vote at the AGM or other General Meetings about important issues for the Association. • Attend our annual AGM (Annual General Meeting) – This is usually held in September each year and we welcome customers, staff and other stakeholders to take a look at our previous year’s performance as well as the priorities for the year ahead.

  • Contribute to the Tafftalkabout Newsletter – You can join the Newsletter Editorial Panel or simply submit an article that you feel may be of interest to other customers.

  • Interview Potential Taff HA Staff – You can take part in recruiting potential Taff staff by being part of an interview panel. To do this you would undergo training/briefing beforehand and carry out the role along with senior staff and a HR Representative.

  • Become an Estates Inspector – Assist your Housing Officer in checking our schemes to see if they are up to standard. Make suggestions on how the scheme can be improved or comment on what is working well.
