The Timebank Scheme

Timebanking is a scheme which rewards tenants for any time they give toTaff in a variety of ways. Whether it is getting involved with one of Taff's tenant and Residents' Associations or helping to organise a community event or activity. One Timebank credit is given for each hour of time a tenant uses for the benefit of Taff.   Time Credits can be exchanged at various public facilities such as leisure centres.

For example, if you attend a focus group at Taff for 1 hour you will receive 1 Time Credit which you can exchange at your local CCC leisure centre for an hour’s swim.

Tenants, residents and service users are awarded credits for a whole range of activities which include:

  • Attending meetings arranged by the Association e.g. focus groups

  • Being on interview panels for recruitment of Taff staff

  • Writing articles for the Taff newsletter

  • Helping to arrange community events

  • Becoming a Tenant Board member

  • Arranging a street event or trip

Current rewards include:

  • Theatre tickets

  • Cinema tickets

  • Rugby tickets

  • Techniquest tickets

  • Access to leisure activities

  • Personalised rewards for individuals and groups such as day trips, events, workshops.

The scheme was officially launched in October 2008 with the help of Cardiff Blues and the No Fit State Circus. Press this link to see our Getting Involved & Timebanking Leaflet.
