Community Groups
We run a range of Customer Involvement groups at Taff, including special interest groups, equality groups and consultation groups that help shape the work of the association and help improve our services for all Customers.

Taff Tenant and Resident Association

This group is constituted and the Chair is Sue Carleton. Taff’s longest serving group meets every month and is made up of a diverse range of people who set their own Agenda and produce amazing results. They are responsible for organising the annual summer seaside trip, the children’s’ Eid and Christmas parties as well as lots of fundraising activities. They are always open to hearing new ideas so if you have any, get in touch.

This group also manages the Food Co-op which is delivered every Friday from the Tenant Resource Room in the car park at Taff. If you would like to know more about getting a big bag of fresh fruit or vegetables for just £3, get in touch with the Community Investment Team at Taff.

They are currently planning the Children’s Christmas party which will be held at Taff on Saturday 5th December.

BME Housing Contact Group

One of their aims is to help break down barriers for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities. Currently working on a “Getting into Work” programme with DPIA (Displaced People in Action) and preparing their Action Plan for 2016.

The BME Group organised a jobs and training road show in 4 venues across Cardiff

Taff Allotment

Based at Leckwith Allotments, this group is not constituted but has some long term members who help keep things ship shape. Members are asked to help with filling up water barrels and keeping the pathways around their plot accessible and weed-free. They occasionally have open days when other organisations and individuals come along to “have a go” for a day.

Every year we have an allotment action day, where group members, staff and local businesses get involved in the project..its great fun!

Taff Knitters and Natters

Held at one of our supported housing sites this group knit and natter every week. They make items for charities and also for fund raising and have knitted and crocheted a wide variety of things in the six years that the group has been in existence ranging from baby clothes for premature baby units to elephant blankets for India! This year they have raised over £3,000 for charities locally and abroad!

Have Your Say Group

Members of this group help our Managers to provide first class services to our tenants. They examine policy and plans and give their opinions as well as making suggestions for improving services which are in turn taken to Taff’s Board for consideration.
