Taff Tenants attend fesTYval event!

Group photo

Yesterday, following glowing feedback after last years CHC fesTYval event, Community Investment Officers Clare and Annette along with a group of Tenants attended this years fesTYval. The fun and engaging event focused on reimagining regeneration, celebrating the housing sector's role in regenerating communities. Everyone had a great time visiting stalls and workshops that inspired creativity and taking part in community karaoke! We all came away buzzing with positivity and excited about the power and potential of communities!

Volunteer Elle really enjoyed the event...

I attended the Housing FestYval in Merthyr on a beautifully sunny day with Clare and Annette and a handful of involved tenants.  You could tell the dedication and passion that had been put into the festival and in turn its venue. On arrival we heard a thought-provoking speech about life and community to get us in the mood for appreciating the value of community (as well as some karaoke!) We then had a choice of various interesting lessons to attend in various ‘classrooms’ and were able to choose the ones most useful to us in our jobs (or lives). From what I attended I mainly learnt about the value of community spirit, how to help reinstate or revive it and the wide range of positive effects this can have on the lives of local tenants. This was a great event for networking for Housing Association staff and also a interesting, fun event for tenants should they want to come to socialise and learn. It comes with lots of fun, games and humour and a relaxed but educational atmosphere.
