Sam Shaw Talks at TPAS Conference

Sam Shaw Speaking at TPAS Conference

We are incredibly proud of Tenant Sam Shaw delivering a particularly moving and inspiring speech to those who attended the TPAS conference on the 15th of November. Sam was the first speaker at the conference in Mid Wales, and talked about the challenges she’s faced and how through community action & tenant participation she’s worked with Taff to make a difference in her community. She went on to say how tenant participation has developed her confidence.

Sam impressed and moved a lot of people with her presentation, and sparked quite a response on social media. She also talked about the achievements of other tenants who have engaged via the groups and volunteering as part of her speech!

Our Community Investment Officers Said  - "Well done Sam. You've done Taff proud!! You are an honorary member of the Taff Community Investment team!"

Whilst Kath Williams, From Cadwyn Housing called Sam 'an inspiration'.

Sam is always a familiar face in Tenant participation here at Taff, and for anyone that knows Sam the first thing you will see is a beaming smile.

Yesterday; Sam wanted to leave on a positive note, saying all it takes is a smile to reach out to someone and to help them get involved too. She left on this lovely poem -

Smiling is infectious.
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too!
I walked around the corner,
And someone saw me grin.
When he smiled I realised,
I had passed it on to him.
I thought about the smile,
And then realised it's worth;
A single smile like mine,
Could travel round the Earth!
So if you feel a smile begin,
Don't leave it undetected.
Start an epidemic,
And get the world infected. - Unknown

We have a range of groups and ways you can get involved with at Taff.
