You can earn timebanks through getting involved with Taff and then spend them in the community, with our local community partners. You can earn timebank credits by attending the following community groups…
BME Contact Group (Black and Minority Ethnic) - Timebank Credits Given
This constituted multi-national group meets monthly and is a consultative body for three Housing Associations and other organisations. One of their aims is to help break down barriers for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities. The group are currently working on a “Getting into Work” programme with DPIA (Displaced People in Action) and preparing their Action Plan for 2016.
Disability Awareness Group Timebank Credits Given
This constituted group of people meet monthly at Taff and share experiences relating to disability and care issues. They are currently planning to accompany Diverse Cymru on an accessibility walk along routes in Canton and Grangetown. They keep up to date with changes to benefits and other matters affecting disabled people and distribute information to others via the Taff newsletter.

Taff tenants only This group of staff and tenants look at Taff’s quarterly newsletter and help make decisions regarding theme and content.
Have Your Say Group Timebank Credits Given
Taff tenants only The Have Your Say Group is a group of people that meet quarterly to assist Taff in looking at specific issues to develop its services. The group meet with various staff members who present concepts, policies etc. for consultation. The group’s feedback and ideas helps Taff drive its services forward taking on board customers’ views.
Taff Tenants’ & Residents’ Association Timebank Credits Given
Taff’s longest serving group meets every month. It’s made up of a diverse range of people who set their own agenda and produce amazing results. They are responsible for organising the annual summer seaside trip, the Children’s Eid and Christmas Party as well as lots of fundraising activities. They are always open to hearing new ideas so if you have any, get in touch.
This group also manages the Food Co-op which is delivered every Friday from the Tenant Resource Room in the car park at Taff. You can spend the timebank credits earnt through volunteering with the food coop the same day!

How Do I Spend Timebank Credits?
There are lots of places you can spend your credits...
Cardiff City Council Run Leisure Centres (Gym & Swim activities) Exchange three Timebank Credits for one hour of activity during off peak times. Note: Restrictions may apply in line with Cardiff City Council Leisure Services Policy.
Shining Stars – Parent & Toddler Group. Exchange one Timebank Credit per child per morning (includes fruit, tea, coffee) Every Thursday 9.30-11.30am 74 Llandaff Road, Canton, CF11 9NL Tel No: 07999419819
Pedal Power – Is a local cycling charity that offer a range of exciting bikes to hire for people of all abilities. With one Timebank Credit and a small cost of £4 you can enjoy a lovely ride around the beautiful castle grounds or, you could choose to cycle around Cardiff Bay. A full assessment of your ability if offered from Pedal Power to ensure you have the right bike for you!
Taff Food-Co-Op You can use Timebank Credits at the Taff Food Co-op, every Friday 11-1pm in the Taff Tenant Resource Room.
Grangetown Food-Co-Op - You can use Timebank Credits in Grangetown Food-Co-Op every Thursday 11am-12noon
Cardiff Castle - is one of Wales' leading heritage attractions and a site of International significance. During 2000 years of history, the Castle has been a Roman Garrison, a Norman stronghold and in Victorian times was transformed into a gothic fairytale fantasy. You can exchange two Timebank Credits for key to the castle. Please note: you will need to provide proof of address upon exchange of the Timebank Credits.
Canton Community Hall – Parent & Toddler Sessions. Sessions are open to children under the age of 5 years if they are accompanied at all times by a parent, guardian, carer or a responsible adult.
