Join Our Board
Vacancies on our Board come up from time to time, and Members are elected by our shareholders.
In order to ensure we have the right ‘fit’ for our organisation – that is, having the right skills and values – we are changing the way potential Members can become eligible to stand for vacancies.
Following several years successfully running Summer Schools for Tenants who might be interested in becoming Board Members, we are now trialling this approach to create a pool of suitably skilled and motivated individuals for our ‘ordinary’ class of vacancies.
If you are interested in being considered, please register your details with us, and we will invite you to any future sessions.
You can access background information and details about the skills we are looking for in the information pack required by clicking here.
We are keen to ensure gender balance and ethnic diversity on our Board, so applications are particularly welcome from members of the Black & Minority Ethnic community and/or women.
To become a Member of Taff’s Board, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Be a shareholding member (cost £1, non-refundable)
- Have one or more of the skills necessary for directing an organisation like Taff
- Be able to fully commit to our values
- Have sufficient time and enthusiasm to devote to the role. (up to 12 meetings a year)
There is a separate process for Tenant Board Members which has already been publicised amongst our residents.
Annual elections take place at our AGM in September. The Board will be able to co-opt additional Members from the 'pool' of approved' Board Members as required.
