The Shine Project was a service that was developed as a result of Big Lottery funding delivered between 2013-2018.
This project was delivered in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan over five years and provided parenting support to young parents aged 16 to 25 who were homeless or in danger of being homeless, and who were struggling to achieve key milestones in their families’ lives.
Support was practical, person-centred and delivered in a variety of settings – in the community, in the young parents’ homes, one to one, or in group settings. It wa delivered by a team of Family Support Workers and Childcare Workers.
The aim of the project was to build up the skills and confidence of young parents and help them build strong, nurturing families that gave their children the best possible start in life.
